New Works by Bill Fick

Chapel Hill artist Bill Fick will be exhibiting large hand-colored screen prints recently completed during a residency at Artist’s Image Resource in Pittsburgh. These iconic pieces are based on Fick’s interest in comics, pop culture and monsters.
Bill Fick is a printmaker who lives and works in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He is the founder/director of Cockeyed Press, a studio specializing in the production of linocut prints, ephemera and small books. He is also a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Art, Art History and Visual Studies at Duke University. Over the past 20 years he has exhibited his prints nationally and internationally and has taught at many institutions across the United States including the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill and Greensboro), Pratt Institute and Rutgers University. Fick’s work can be found in the collections of the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University; The New York Public Library and the Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers University. In 1993 Fick was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artist Fellowship and in 1995 a North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship. Fick is also co-author with Beth Grabowski of Printmaking: A Complete Guide to Materials and Processes published by Laurence King Publishing, London and Prentice Hall, USA.
