A top pick by The Independent, this show is a must-see!
Curiosity and an introspective psychology are the forces behind this exhibition of conceptual work. The 3-D art, a first for Through This Lens, is closely tied to the photographs engendered from the installations and arrangements on display. Mr. Logghe draws on a complex history of photography dating to the 19th century for some of the printing techniques used, and into the 21st century for others. This rich grouping of contemporary work will delight and confound. There will be something for every viewer and student of photography.
Mr. Logghe has been a devoted full-time photographer for over a decade, specializing in handcrafted photographs. To realize his visions he works in Platinum/Palladium, Cyanotype, Bromoil, Gum, Lith Printing and a growing list of combination processes. His work is held in public and private collections throughout the United States. In addition, Mr. Logghe is an author, educator, reviewer, curator and the editor of fotosavant: The Journal of Contemporary Handcrafted Photography.
Mr. Logghe's work will be on display through January 7th, 2012.
