This Third Friday at Golden Belt

This Third Friday at Golden Belt, join us as we welcome some exciting new businesses! This Friday evening, Golden Belt’s long anticipated café Blend in Building 2 debuts their menu of baked goods, and they’re brewing up Counter Culture coffee and serving Yogen Fruz frozen yogurt. Be sure to stop by and give the new menu a try, then follow Blend on Facebook or Twitter for menu updates and specials.
Right next door to LabourLove, Moshi Moshi Salon, sister store to the wildly popular Chapel Hill salon is open for business as of January 17th. Check out their new digs as they celebrate with an open house and art exhibition called "Studio Kimchi", an endearing collection of kawaii portraits by Lacey Lambe. Moshi Moshi is booking appointments now. Visit their website for more information on services and products http://moshimoshimeanshello.com/contact.

In Room 100, the Durham Art Guild hosts an opening reception for their newest exhibition featuring the work of Gregg Kemp and his Terra Incognita Series. This show is a visual presentation of "breaking out of the canvas." Gregg's pieces possess a dynamic that is playful and at times disorienting. For effect, Gregg uses images from a pinhole camera in his work. For more information on Room100 exhibitions and schedules, please contact the Durham Art Guild at www.durhamartguild.org.
Also in Building 3, the studio artists will present the Center for Child and Family Health with the donations collected from last month’s 12x12 show, which was a huge hit.
LabourLove keeps the party going late with Peter Lamb and the Wolves in the latest installment of their After Hours concert series with the Art of Cool project. Peter Lamb and the Wolves is a group of the triangle’s hottest young jazz musicians. This quintet’s sound is a mixture of Charles Mingus, New Orleans grooves and strange melodies from around the world. They’ve won The Independent’s Jazz Band of the Year award and played in both The Hopscotch Music Festival and Shakori Hills. In 2011 The Wolves released their first album to much acclaim. They hope to produce a second album by the middle of 2012. Previous After Hours events have sold out, so do not miss this opportunity. Buy your tickets today at Labourlove.com. LabourLove after hours runs from 9-midnight, but LabourLove Gallery is also open in the 6-9 block, so be sure to stop in and see what’s new at the collective.

In the visitor’s parking lot, Only Burger will be on hand serving up the Triangle’s favorite burgers! Speaking of food trucks, have you caught the regular lunch rotation at Golden Belt? Follow us at Goldenbeltarts on Facebook for daily updates and menus.
